The Girl Who Silenced the World at the UN

Born and raised in Vancouver, Severn Suzuki has been working on environmental and social justice issues since kindergarten. At age 9, she and some friends started the Environmental Children’s Organization (ECO), a small group of children committed to learning and teaching other kids about environmental issues. They traveled to 1992’s UN Earth Summit, where 12 year-old Severn gave this powerful speech that deeply affected (and silenced) some of the most prominent world leaders. The speech had such an impact that she has become a frequent invitee to many U.N. conferences.

Do you still believe in freedom?

14 04 2008

So last time you checked almost everyone is “free” in democratic and first world countries… right?

It doesn’t take a rocket scientist to get the clear picture that, the people on this planet are far from free.
Without bashing on this specific country I’ll use it to give the best example possible. People are controlled by governments and societies are managed carefully by them. This is an absolute fact. Freedom is not an easily described word or concept.

To be free means: “the power or right to act, or think as one wants without hindrance or restraint”.

As we know, no one out there can act as they want, because what’s good for someone isn’t always good for everyone. This applies for you and me, you and your government, and even you a simple tree.
Countries like the US and other european countries often use the word freedom to have an impact on their citizens and their lifestyle, to create a pshycological impact on societies, so that all its members continue to work like cattle. In freedom what you see isn’t always what you get.

When talking of freedom, lets face it, no one actually knows how to manage it. Our freedom often impacts other people’s lives, like poor countries and their corrupt governments, which enslave their people so that someone profits from their over-populated poor country.

China is an example of how far the powers that be, are capable of streching their iron fists in order for the powerful to remain that way. People work like slaves and get paid miserable wages so that you and I can have our TV’s, shoes, clothes, mp3 players, computers, you name it. Is that a right way to procede?
Should companies be able to exploit our poorest brothers and sisters from this same planet? Shouldn’t there be laws against taking your contry’s work force and just send it to a far, over populated countries where you can spend ten times less money ? Shouldn’t these people be taxed 10 times as more for doing that? Shouldn’t we all unite and share the same wages and lifestyle? Why is greed such a part of our lives?

Companies are growing and treating their people like cattle in order to get results and more money. At the end of the day we’re like dead batteries.. you just swap them for new ones and it’s done.
Why don’t we get that picture all the time? Because companies are trained to treat you like they care, to give you objectives to run to, to give people more work than they can handle (and in case of failure it’s not because you had too much to do, it’s because they gave you a goal and you (and no one) could acomplish them)

Let’s give out an example.

You are given an objective: Work hard to get your customers to invest more in your company. If you manage to get 10 companies to renew their contracts (to more expensive ones) you’ll get a 1000 bucks plus some vouchers to redeem somewhere.

- what do most people do? They’ll work their asses off for the prize, for the objective to be completed, so that they’ll feel special and earn something special. That’s it. You want to please! So that in a couple of years you’ll get paid 100 bucks more monthly.

So now lets focus on what happens most of the time: You’ll manage to get 8 or 9 companies to renew their contracts. Oops… didn’t you hear it was 10? All you’ll get is a lame excuse because 9 isn’t good enough, and your bonus or prize was just flushed down the toilet. You will feel like you’ve let your master (AKA Boss) down and you’ll even apologize some times.
On the other hand your employer is jumping happy for he had an objective of 5 and was able to get 9, and better yet… no one will get any bonuses because he’ll keep them all for him and his board buddies.

What happens to a company when they promiss you and won’t deliver? In case you haven’t noticed, ABSOLUTELY NOTHING!

They call you free so that you feel good about yourself, and once you realize nothing in your life, related to your job and lifestyle, is actually 100% free. Your freedom is shrinked to be able to say what you think and in some cases get away with bad mouthing your government (which doesn’t happen that often as you might have noticed)

So our freedom isn’t worth much, because the powers that be hate that we can speak our minds, and are determined to ignore those who speak their minds and have ideas that they consider are not in the best interests oftheir society (aka their own pockets)

Unfortunately there will always be wars, because someone will have to make billions off of military arsenal and steal other people’s OIL and that’s something I can’t cope with.

Why go around stealing people’s liberties and invading countries with fake excuses (that even now that everyone knows its nothing but a bunch of lies, people still go to work and do nothing about it), making life harder for everyone because of increasing prices (that only profit those who make our rules) when one day not far from now all you greedy power hungry sons of bitches will be dead anyways?

I’m a guy and sometimes I wish the world was ruled by women, for I know that if it were to happen, no wars would be fought and the world would be a better place, because women are the only one capable of ruling this world the way it should be.

Why? Because they’re mothers and know how much everyone’s life is worth, something that man will never understand.

Have a nice day and thank you mother for carrying you and worrying about you when no one else would.

Peace out.

Anonymous (3rd Video)

29 01 2008

It is truly my belief that what the group Anonymous is doing to the “Church” (Sicko *cough* *cough*) of Scientology, is one of the greatest actions ever performed by anyone. It’s not a question of who has the balls to go forward with something like this, it’s a question of how vast this attack is getting. I would never thought this attack on the Scientologists would actually come forward, but just like me, there are lots of others out there.

An action like this deserves exposure and media attention, because it proves that the people will always win in the long run, against evil forces or corrupt governments, or anything that’s wrong. Lets face it. The Scientologists will get what they deserve. Maybe not right away, but they will, trust me. We should all thank Anonymous, because what they’re doing isn’t simply a campaign against corrupt and evil people who will go to unbelievable lengths just for money and power. What they’re doing is proving that we, the people are powerful enough to take them, or anyone who means harm, down.

We put presidents in power, we make religions grow, we make the world spin eveyday with our honest work and doing right, and we can also take all that back if someone is taking advantage of the freedom we give them. This is an example for an organization like Scientology or even our own lives.

Money and power is what’s driving humanity to an abrupt end, but people don’t understand that, even with all the power in the world, they’re still human and mortal, and so they should care more about health than wealth, because at the end of the day, if you’re not healthy it just won’t matter.

Here’s Anonymous’ 3rd video.

Thank you for reading.
